Warren PD: Multiple arrests, police investigate more car break-ins

Warren Police made seven arrests and responded to multiple reports involving items being taken from vehicles between May 20-27, 2024.

Monday, May 20

Police dispersed a suspicious individual from Del’s Lemonade on Child Street at 8:22 a.m.

Police dispersed a man who was reportedly sleeping on a bench near Warren Town Hall at 1:44 p.m.

Tuesday, May 21

Police responded to Joyce Street at 9:48 a.m. for the report of a verbal argument in progress. The man allegedly involved left on foot prior to police arriving.

Police received a report of a sexual assault on South Cornell Avenue at 10:26 a.m.

Police were asked at 3:08 p.m. to place extra patrols in the area of Bridge Street due to cars speeding excessively in the mid-afternoon.

Barbara Carisi, of Detroit Avenue, was arrested at 4:41 p.m. following the report that a woman was at the caller’s home despite having a no contact order. The report indicates the woman allegedly then entered the home and began a verbal argument. She was charged with domestic violence (criminal violation of a no contact order, first offense), simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct.

Police dispersed a man from Metacom Avenue at 6:02 p.m.

Warren fire volunteers helped extinguish a grill fire on the porch of a home on Baggy Wrinkle Cove at 6:05 p.m.

Wednesday, May 22

A caller on Market Street reported at 1:51 a.m. that someone was knocking on their window. Police didn’t find anyone at the scene.

Police dispersed a man from the East Bay Bike Path near Franklin Street at 10:52 a.m. after receiving a report he was harassing pedestrians.

Police dispersed multiple women from a Detroit Avenue address at 11:42 a.m.

Police responded to Child Street at 1:03 p.m. for a report of excessively loud music. Those responsible for advised to quiet down.

Police received a report at 4:35 p.m. that a Franklin Street resident believed their vehicle may have been stolen.

A Sowamsett Avenue resident reported at 5:49 p.m. that they believed their car had been rummaged through the previous night, although police said no items were taken and no damage was noted.

A Haile Street resident reported at 5:54 p.m. that items were stolen from their vehicle.

Police received a report at 7:33 p.m. that there was a large knife in the road near Del’s Lemonade on Child Street. However, police didn’t note finding any weapon at the scene.

Thursday, May 23

Police responded to Mason Street at 1:31 a.m. for a noise complaint, and advised those responsible to quiet down.

Police responded to Market Street Mulch and Material at 4:40 a.m. following a report from a caller that a dumpster being dropped off woke him up, which he said had been an ongoing problem. Police spoke to the truck operator and advised them of the complaint.

Fire volunteers responded to Market Street at 12:49 p.m. following a report that lightning had struck a home and caused a fire on the back deck. Rhode Island Energy and an electrical inspector responded to the scene.

RIDOT was advised of a no parking sign on Child Street that had been struck following an accident. Rhode Island Energy was also notified as a utility pole had been damaged as well.

Police responded to Hall Avenue at 8:15 p.m. following a report that people might be living in the woods and having an open burn. Police reported they were dispersed and advised of the no trespassing signs.

Friday, May 24

Police moved along a person who was reportedly sleeping on the bike path between Nobert and Park Streets at 12:32 a.m.

Crystal Zina, of Charlotte Drive, Bristol, was arrested at 1:55 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Metacom Avenue. They were charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test. They were arraigned and later released.

Police received a report at 1:40 p.m. from a person on Water Street claiming to have video of a suspect going through peoples’ cars the prior night. The person was unable to download the video, however, and said they’d call back.

Saturday, May 25

Police dispersed a vehicle from the gas station on Main Street at 1:48 a.m. after receiving a suspicious vehicle report.

The animal control officer responded to Baltimore Avenue at 9:53 a.m. for the report of an injured rabbit. They contacted multiple wildlife rehabilitation facilities and were waiting to hear back from one.

Wayne Bancroft, of Barden Lane, Warren, was arrested following an incident at 11:06 p.m. on Barden Lane. He was charged with three counts of domestic violence (two counts of simple assault and/or battery, and one count of disorderly conduct, all first offenses). He was arraigned and later released.

Sunday, May 26

Charles Pimental, 51, of Barden Lane, Warren, was arrested following a wellbeing check at 6:30 p.m. He was charged with one count of domestic violence (criminal violation of a no contact order, first offense), and obstructing an officer in execution of duty. They were arraigned and later transported to the ACI.

Police responded to Metacom Avenue at 10:16 p.m. following a report that several vehicles were seen driving the wrong way down the road.

Joab Coderre, 45, of 196 Sweet Avenue, Pawtucket, was arrested by Rhode Island State Police at 11:55 p.m. for a warrant out of Warren. He was charged with felony assault and/or battery, felony conspiracy (greater than 5 to 10 years), and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned and transported to the ACI.

Monday, May 27

Jacob Wright, 18, of Main Street, Warren, was arrested at 12:33 a.m. following a report of a suspicious person trying to stop vehicles while standing in the middle of the road. He was charged with simple assault and/or battery and disorderly conduct.

Kaiden Way, 19, of 34 Croade St., Warren, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. following a report that someone was throwing things around an apartment. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (assault on person with severe impairments, and disorderly conduct, first offense). He was arraigned and later released.

Kaiden Way, 19, of 34 Croade St., Warren, was arrested at 4:06 a.m. after reportedly returning to the home where the prior arrest log had just occurred. He was charged with domestic violence (criminal violation of a no contact order, first offense). This time, Way was arraigned and transported to the ACI later that morning.
